This Privacy Statement is effective from 25th May 2018.

This Privacy Statement explains how I, Terravia Ainley (also trading as Terri Ainley and dumfriescounselling.co.uk) use and protect any data you give to me when you use my website, and/or my services.
My business is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office and I agree to abide by my obligations under the General Data Protection Regulation May 2018 (GDPR).

I collect and retain your data for the purposes of carrying out my business of providing you with counselling or therapy services, and/or information about those services. I only use the data I collect for these purposes, and as specified in my Privacy Policy. I will only share your data with a third party if I have your written consent, or if I have a lawful basis for doing so (e.g. safeguarding; prevention and detection of crime). I will never sell your data.

You have the right see the data I hold about you. Please email me at terri@dumfriescounselling.co.uk or ask me during your sessions, if you would like to have access to your data. You have the right to ask me to change any information that I hold about you that is incorrect; ask me to delete information that I hold about you; restrict the ways I am processing your data; receive digital data in a usable format; and ask me to stop processing your data.

If you ask for your data to be deleted earlier than stated in my privacy policy, or ask me to restrict or stop processing your data, I will inform you if this may impact on my effectiveness in delivering counselling/therapy services to you.

I make every attempt to be compliant and vigilant about how I retain and use people’s information, but occasionally mistakes may happen. If I notice my business practices have breached my privacy policies/statements, and/or failed to comply with the GDPR, I will inform all affected parties as soon as possible. Also, if you have any concerns about how my business is dealing with the privacy of personal data as covered by the GDPR, or broader privacy and confidentially issues, please let me know immediately.
